Building on our victory

My fellow Manitoban,
What an incredible year—and it’s not one we’ll soon forget.

With the holiday season and a new year just around the corner, we can take a look at the year that’s just passed with pride.
In May, we helped elect 103 NDP MPs—the largest ever team of New Democrat MPs and a historic breakthrough.
On Oct. 4, together we made history again by electing the largest ever team of New Democrat MLAs in Manitoba.
This victory was possible because of the hard work and support of so many Manitobans like you.
Of course, this year also brought some difficult times.
We lost a friend and a true leader, Jack Layton. The immediate outpour of support in Manitoba and across the country speaks to Jack’s ability to connect with and inspire so many.
In his final words to Canadians, Jack reminded us all that we can be more loving, more hopeful and more optimistic.
In Manitoba, an NDP win in the October election means the chance to realize that vision.
I know that by working together, we can give every child the opportunity to succeed. We can give working families good job opportunities and the chance to train for better ones. And we can protect our lake and rivers for future generations.
We have an opportunity to build a brighter future for all Manitobans. I want you to be a part of it.
We have an incredible team to help get us there.
Because of support from Manitobans like you, strong MLAs like Stan Struthers, Theresa Oswald and Erin Selby can keep working to strengthen our schools, hospitals and communities.
They’ll be joined by the next generation of leaders in our party. People like Kevin Chief, James Allum, Deanne Crothers and Dave Gaudreau.
Our victory in October is the start of something new for our NDP and for our province.
Together, we’ve made a difference on the priorities of families. And with your support, Greg Selinger and your NDP MLAs will build an even stronger Manitoba.
It’s going to take a lot of work.
