"The north is one of the engines of our economy. We are investing to increase opportunities for education and training in the north, and expand the northern economy. In this way we are helping northern families realize better, more prosperous futures."

Frank Whitehead was elected the Member of the Legislative Assembly for The Pas in a 2009 by-election. He is a member of Opaskwayak Cree Nation and has a long history of community involvement in OCN and the Town of The Pas, including Chief of OCN.

Frank’s strong background of experience has made him a valuable addition to the government caucus. His work for the Swampy Cree Tribal Council, Northern Development Corps, New Careers North, the Cree Nation Tribal Centre, and as a political advisor to Grand Chief Ron Evans of the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs, has allowed him to follow through on a number of important projects in The Pas.
