Sharon brings her experience as a mother, educator and an activist to her role as MLA for Kirkfield Park. Since being elected in 2007, Sharon has become an active member of several government committees. She is the president of the Manitoba section of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie (L’assemblée parlementaire de la Francophonie) and an energy committee member for the Midwestern Legislators’ Conference. Sharon was also appointed Minister Gord Mackintosh’s assistant for Family Services and Consumer Affairs.

More About Sharon

• Raised in the Assiniboia area and attended Buchanan Elementary, Hedges Junior High and Silver Heights Collegiate.
• Taught in the Joint Baccalaureate Nursing Program and in the Inner City Social Work Program at the University of Manitoba.
• Designed and taught introductory courses for the Gender and Women’s Studies Program at Brandon University.
• Is proud to be raising her two boys in the neighbourhood she represents.
