Statement on today's tragic events

As Premier of our province I join all Manitobans, Canadians and people around the world in grieving today's shocking events in Brussels. This follows the despicable acts of terror that took place in Istanbul last Saturday. We extend our condolences to those who have lost their lives, to the injured, and all those affected by these tragedies.

Terrorism is a cowardly act and we condemn these horrible acts of violence.

We share our love, prayers and solidarity with the people of Istanbul and Brussels at this difficult time.

Conservatives continue to spread misinformation

Only the Conservatives would try to distract Manitobans from their plan to cut funding for front-line health care services by suggesting that the Eriksdale and Arborg emergency rooms would close. The Conservatives have a history of spreading misinformation in the Interlake. This is the same party that was responsible for the biggest vote-rigging scandal in Manitoba's history, which led Justice Alfred Monnin to say he had never encountered "as many liars" as he did in his inquiry into this dark chapter in Manitoba politics.

Bokhari Liberals will cut investments, delay flood protection

The Rana Bokhari Liberals are saying they will delay strategic infrastructure that helps create good jobs and improve traffic flow for trade and tourism. They have also committed to delaying needed flood protection. This just doesn't make sense.

We are focused on building Winnipeg, and we are working in partnership with the city to identify strategic infrastructure priorities. Our New Partnership with Winnipeg will invest $1 billion in infrastructure in our capital city over the next five years, in addition to annual funding.

Liberals' policies just don't make sense

We agree that it is important to address addictions issues. That’s why we created the Winnipeg Drug Treatment Court together with the Federal Government, and continue to support it. It's why we established the Mental Health Court, which works with people whose mental-health issues are contributing to their involvement with crime.

And that’s why we will protect Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries from being privatized. MBLL is a leader in social responsibility, and gives a percentage of its profits every year to programs that treat and prevent addictions.

PCs lack real plan for the North

Brian Pallister and his Conservatives have no real plan for the North. They're focusing on tourism because they are just visiting.

The Conservatives have spent years saying no to Northern development and key job creators like Manitoba Hydro.

Brian Pallister's plan to cancel Hydro and road projects while eliminating the East Side Road Authority will kill good jobs and training opportunities for northern Manitobans.

From the Heart

Dear friends,

It has been an honour to serve you as Premier for the past seven years.

This last year has been difficult and we haven’t always gotten it right – but know that we’ve always had the best interests of Manitobans at heart in our decisions.

I want to assure you that we’re listening to you more closely than ever and the Manitoba NDP shares your priorities.

"This campaign is worth fighting. This party is worth fighting for. And I believe this election is worth winning!" - Wab Kinew

This weekend, New Democrats from across the province will be knocking on doors as part of our Door 2 Door campaign. It promises to be our biggest event since 2011, and we're just getting started.

Khrystos Razdayetsia: Ukrainian Christmas and New Year

I am pleased to extend warm holiday wishes to all Manitobans who will be celebrating Christmas today and tomorrow.

Manitoba is a place of spectacular diversity, where we join together to share in the celebrations and traditions of our many peoples. In particular, we are proud be home to one of the largest Ukrainian communities in the world, and this rich history is on full display as families and friends across the province join together to celebrate the Christmas season.

Once again, best wishes to you and your family for the holidays.

Khrystos Razdayetsia.
